We’re finally there! It’s time to pack for the big departure, but… not everything is going according to plan. Did you understand what we were getting at? The lack of space in the suitcase that ends up in an argument over who gets to say farewell to their stuff.

Don’t worry, this year it will be zero worries! And yes, Blooom has thought of everything. Here are our 8 tips for a perfect suitcase.

Blooom tip 1: Choose the right suitcase

It’s obvious, but it’s not! Sometimes it is difficult to choose a suitcase and to know if it will be functional enough. First of all, depending on the length of your trip, it will be more or less large, adapt it according to the quantity and volume of your belongings. Remember that small light summer clothes do not take up as much space as large winter jumpers, for example. Choose a suitcase that has pockets inside and outside, it will be much more practical to store small trinkets.

Blooom tip 2: Pack a travel kit

Taking your usual sizes of hygiene and care products with you is a big mistake, nothing like wasting precious space in your suitcase. Instead, we recommend the great Blooom travel kits. We have selected for you the must-have hygiene and care products in travel size and in waterproof and resealable kits to optimise your space on the one hand, and to be sure not to let your products leak on your clothes on the other. Go for a ready-to-use travel kit or create your own tailor-made kit from our selection of products: natural, organic, vegan, luxury, mini price, etc. There is something for everyone, it’s here !

Blooom tip n°3: Go solid

If you still don’t have enough space even with a classic Blooom travel kit, then we have another solution for you (and yes, we have thought of everything): solid cosmetics. They save a lot of space as it is much easier to measure out the desired quantity of product with a solid cosmetic, a 50g solid shampoo is for example equivalent to 2 bottles of 250ml liquid shampoo (+1 point for the environment). A solid product already saves space and money, but a solid product in travel size is even better! In the Blooom catalogue, you will find a selection of solid zero waste products for your travels and a Less is More zero waste travel kit.

Blooom Tip #4: Rolling your clothes

This is probably the most famous tip and yet some people are still sceptical. We assure you, it has been proven! Rolling your clothes allows you to save a considerable amount of space in your suitcase, and on top of that, it avoids creases and wrinkles for your most fragile clothes. This method, straight out of the imagination of our Japanese friends, is revolutionary and known worldwide to improve your daily life.

Blooom tip n°5 : Layering your bras

To save space in your suitcase, you have to think about all the details. Ladies, this tip is for you! If you’re taking bras with you, then we advise you to fold them first, but above all, stack them! They look like they’ve been specially designed to stack, so take advantage of that, stack, stack and save space.

Blooom tip n°6: Plan your outfits in advance

We know you won’t like this one, but it is nevertheless necessary to optimise your suitcase. We’ve already heard the “you never know” that ends in “well, in the end I’ll only have worn half of my stuff…”, this year it’s stops, and for real! Only take what you need, only the clothes you are sure you will wear. The most effective way to do this is to plan your outfits. Try to know as much as possible what you are going to wear day by day so that you only take what you need. And don’t forget that for your summer holidays, the main outfit is the swimming costume, so there’s no need to take your whole wardrobe with you. We know you’re going to save a lot of space with your Blooom travel kit and our great tips, but don’t let that stop you. We said op-ti-mi-sa-tion!

Blooom tip n°7: Take classics

When we talk about classics, we’re talking about clothes again! Here’s a little technique to help you pack: take clothes that go with everything. For example, think about a top that goes with two different pairs of trousers, or trousers that go with two or three tops, favour clothes that go with everything, that’s how you’ll save space!

Blooom Tip 8: Think of all the corners

When we say all the space, we mean all the space! Look for small empty areas to put things like headphones, jewellery or a minimalist travel kit for example. Tip: use the inside of your shoes to store things like a speaker, socks or a bottle of perfume. Analyse your entire suitcase so you don’t miss anything!

That’s it for the 8 great Blooom tips, we sincerely hope they will help you to optimize your suitcase for your next trips, we want pictures of your exploits! In the meantime, you can get a Blooom travel kit by clicking here 😉
